Synthetic grass is made of synthetic materials, like plastic, which retains the heat of direct sunlight. In fact, it can get up to 6-10 times hotter than regular plant grass. To understand why urine is so difficult to remove, we need to be aware of how synthetic grass is laid and what happens to the urine when your pet has visited. Synthetic grass is usually built on crush rock and sand with small holes in the material to allow for drainage.
