Synthetic grass is made of synthetic materials, like plastic, which retains the heat of direct sunlight. In fact, it can get up to 6-10 times hotter than regular plant grass. To understand why urine is so difficult to remove, we need to be aware of how synthetic grass is laid and what happens to the urine when your pet has visited. Synthetic grass is usually built on crush rock and sand with small holes in the material to allow for drainage. When urine comes in contact it may seep down through the grass and into the rock and sand layers underneath. • It is best not to use urineFREE in the heat of the day. Because urineFREE needs dwell time to work and heat or direct sunlight leads to quicker evaporation. Late afternoon/evening when the sun is down is best and make sure the grass is not wet before applying.
